The BT Pacifier Baby Monitor is an truly incredible bit of kit. ‘Kit’ being the perfect word, because this thing has so many gadgets, it’s more like the Knight Rider car than a baby monitor and is definitely one for the dads!
It has a light show that projects pretty patterns around the room, an MP3 input so you can play baby lullabies, a room temperature gauge, crystal clear HD sound, a night light on the main unit and a torch light on the control so you don’t have to switch on the nursery lights and well, the list goes on. Not only does the list go on, but each item on the list is pretty amazing too, and I could speak at length about each of them.
For example, the angle of the light show can be adjusted to project onto your chosen surface, and the the temperature gauge not only displays a reading on the remote, but effects the colour of the night light on the unit too – giving you a visual clue if the babies room is too hot; it changes from blue, to yellow, to orange, to red. And, as if that’s not enough, the parent unit will also beep and vibrate.
It can even be set up to your own specifications, using the `alerts’ function – this allows you to set a noise threshold, which means you’ll only be alerted to certain sounds. For example, you can set the unit so it only alerts you when baby cries, and not to coughs and splutters and small movement.
The item itself looks fantastic, with a nice bright colour scheme and fetching oval design. It’s sturdily built and really looks and feels the part sat on a bedside table. It’s quite big – bigger than you’d expect but that’s not a problem because its so feature packed.
Its simple and intuitive to use with buttons for all the major operations on both the remote and the main unit, and there’s safety features too; the unit flashes to highlight if the connection between the remote and main unit has been broken for instance.
This is a truly first class product that is well thought out, and works well in the field. If you can afford it – get it. You won’t regret it. It also comes with a travel pouch so you can take it with you on your travels too. And if like me you love your gadgets, you’ll find yourself fighting over whose turn it is to check on the baby.
It’s expensive, but you really get what you pay for with this product, and I’m pretty sure the the safety of your child’s worth the extra outlay, no?
